Orthodox Romanians will soon celebrate Easter and a special tradition close to everyone’s hearts is dyeing and painting eggs. Romanians Easter eggs are now famous for their beauty, as even the British Museum proudly displayed them. If you are curious to see beautiful painted eggs and how they are crafted, there are several festivals around Romania which you can attend.
One of them is held in Ciocanesti village, which was declared the cultural village of Romania in 2014. Every year the village organizes a National Festival of Decorated Eggs and this year it will be held on the 16 and 17th of April at the Florin Gheuca House of Culture. The festival will include exhibits of hand decorate eggs, a competition of decorated eggs, folk music, traditional music, an exhibit of traditional hand made products and traditional clothes.
