Simona Halep has qualified in the finals of the Madrid open after defeating Samantha Stosur from Australia with 6-2,6-0.
The game started with an equal score of 2-2 and it did not suggest that Halep will continue to win all games without difficulty. After 11 games Halep has won the game in only 52 minutes.
So far, Halep has beat Irina Begu in the quater finals with 6-3,0-6,6-1 and Samantha Stosur has beat Romanian Patricia Tig with 6-3,6-4. Simona Halep will meet Dominika Cibulkov from Slovakia who is currently 38 in WTA ranking.
Halep said to the press:
“Her game is fast. She hits the balls. She is moving very well. Of course I think she really wants it tomorrow, to win. We are in the same position. Everyone will fight for it.
“But it’s a big challenge for me. Another match, another day, a different day as well, so we will see. I just want to stay focused like today and to do everything I have in my gameplan.”
