Amazon company has opened a new centre in Iasi, Romania on October 6. The centre is certainly helping the area as it provides over 1,000 jobs. Currently the company has 600 employees and plans to hire 400 more.Amazon first came to Romania in 2005 and according to Romania Insider it has invested 40 million euros.
Amazon currently does not sell its products in Romania but its departments focus on technology, compliance, retail and digital imaging. All these departments are involved in running the Amazon website by developing technological solutions.
The company has made partnerships with schools in the area hoping to support talented people and is also offering internships.
Currently Amazon employs over 270,000 people from around the world and last year it earned over 100 million in revenue.
