Romanian teams win gold and silver medals at the Canoe World Championships

The Canoe World Championships that were held in Bulgaria this year have been quite successful for Romanian teams. Both male and female teams have won medals.

Saturday has been the luckiest day. Ionela Livia Cozmiuc and Gianina Elena Beleaga have won the gold medal in the light doubles in the female category. The girls have dominated the competition from the start. They have finished the event with 6:50.72. They have beaten the US team which ended up on the second place and the Dutch team which won the silver medal.

The Romanian male team formed of Marius Cozmiuc and Ciprian Tudose have won the silver medal with a time of 6:16.90. Before the competition, the boys had an accident which resulted in some problems with the boat. However, despite the obstacles, the boys managed to win the second place. They were beaten by the Croatian team and the third place was occupied by the French. On Sunday, unfortunately, Romania did not win any medals and ended up only on the 5th and 6th place.
