Romania Day Festival held in New York

Romania Day Festival will bring together 25,000 visitors from the United States to celebrate Romanian traditions and culture.

The festival will take place on Sunday, May 15, 2016 in the Financial District of New York and the visitors will be able to enjoy a series of popular music concerts, dances from Moldova, Transylvania and Banat.

The festival invites all Romanian- Americans, the Diaspora and whoever is interested in Romanian culture. The keynote speaker is congressman Joe Wilson and special guests such as George Maior, the Romanian Ambassador to Washington and Ion Jinga, Romanian Ambassador to the United Nations.

It is estimated that in the United States there are 367,310 Americans with Romanian as a first ancestry and the Romanian-American Network Inc. estimates that there are 1.1 million Romanians in the US.
