Four Romanian photographers have been shortlisted for one of the biggest and most important photography contests in the world, Sony World Photography Awards. The biggest prize consist of 30,000 dollars and the winners will be awarded on the 21st of April in London.
Over 230,000 photographers from 186 countries have signed in this competition. The number of Romanian photographers that participate in this competition has increased with 60 percent compared to last year.
The photographers that will participate in this competition are :Remus Tiplea (from Negresti Oas), for the category Professional Daily Life, Oana Stoian (from Lugoj) for the category Professional Staged, Amnon Gutman for Professional Current Affairs and Laurian Ghinitoiu for Open Architecture. The works of the the short list photographers will be exposed in London and will also be published in the Sony World Photography Awards catalogue. All winners will also be rewarded with Sony equipments.
