100 year old Romanian Second World War Veteran celebrated by the locals

Nicolae Ionita, a 100 year old veteran has been celebrated by the Buzau garrison’s military men thanks to the “Maresal Alexandru Averescu” Foundation.

Nicolae Ionita was born on the 9th of August in Boldesti in 1914 and has fought in the Second World War in Basarabia and in the Chinisau and Balta area in the year 1941. After the war he moved to Mihailesti to work as an agricultural technician.

Now, at 100 years old Nicolae has remembered and told the audience present at the celebration, stories from the war and wished for everyone to reach his age.

According to ziaristionline.ro the veteran has received plenty of flowers and gifts and thanks to the foundation he will also receive a hearing aid.
