Romanian traditional dance included in UNESCO cultural heritage list

feciorescul-de-ticus-pe-lista-patrimoniului-cultural-al-omenirii-13975A Romanian traditional dance called “Feciorescul de Ticus” which is specific to Ticusul Nou village is now part of the immaterial cultural patrimony of UNESCO, together with other 19 customs from around the world.

According to, Romania has managed thanks to the Ministry of Culture to include on the immaterial patrimony list this dance which is esspecially performed in Transylvania.

Romania also has other cultural traditions that are under UNESCO protection, such as the dance ritual Calusul, which has been included in November 2005, Doina, included in October 2009, Horezu ceramics and a male group carol singing in Romania and Moldavia.
