Students from Craiova college win bronze and silver medals at the Science Olympiad in South Korea

We have to agree that Romanian children are one of the most intelligent in the world. Just last year students from the Fratii Buzesti National college in Craiova have won the silver and bronze medals at the International science Olimpyad from South Korea.Madalina Stanasel and Radu Romanescu participated in December at the Junior Science Olympiad in Daegu. The two students are class mates in the mathematics-informatics section of the college and this was their first participation in an international olympiad.

Zamfirica Petrescu, the director of the college was very enthusiastic about their winnings: ” It is the first time when this college has two qualified students at the same competition and they manage to come back home with medals. (…) I cannot wait to see them and congratulate them and for them to tell us how the competition was, but also the whole experience, because they visited South Korea. It is a great joy that we had these students at a competition like this. This year is closing beautifully, we earned eight international medals”.

The International Science Olympiad is quite a difficult one for students, as they are expected to have high knowledge of physics, chemistry and biology. Madalina Stanasel has also qualified for the team that will participate at the European Union Science Olympiad that will take place this year.
