Gabriel Bebeselea and Vlad Vizireanu have reached the finals of the prestigious Bamberg Symphony Gustav Mahler Conducting Competition.
The competition attracted 381 conductors from all over the world every year, however only 14 are invited to Bamberg for the finals. The competition is one of the most important events of its kind in the world. The finals will take place between May 6-13 in the Concert Hall in Bamber, Germany. The competition jury is formed of Sir Neville Marriner, Jiří Bělohlávek, Barbara Hannigan, Jörg Widmann and David Zinman.
The competitors must have a complex repertoire, such as works by Joseph Haydn, Henri Dutilleux, Anton Webern, Jorg Widmann and Georg Friedrich Haas.
