International book festival now open in six Romanian cities

Bookfest, the biggest international book market in Romania is now open in Bucharest, Timisoara, Cluj-Napoca, Iasi, Targu Mures and Brasov.

Children are also expected to join the event, as they can participate in many workshops and competition and win books. The festival will be open between June 1-5 and because the first day of Summer is the International Day of Children, the organisers have prepared many activities for them. The children can watch a theatre play and a concert from the Limpopo music band, and can participate in several competitions.

On the first day of the event, famous Romanian writer Mircea Cartarescu celebrates his birthday and will be present at several events within the book market. The writer will be present at a book launching by Radu Vancu and on Saturday, 4th of June he will participate in a presentation of the “Levantul” and a colection edition “Solenoid”.

Curtea veche Publishing will also launch a children’s book called ” In mision with Marian. I am not little, I have a large school bag” by Marian Godina. The Children’s choir will have a concert at the Arena scene . Other events include movie nights and over 40 events for children.
