Garana jazz festival starts today!

Garana Jazz Festival, the most important open-air jazz festival in Central and East of Europe starts today, July 7.

This is the 20th edition of the festival and big names are going to perform:  Jack DeJohnette, Yuri Honing, Carlos Bica, Wojtek Mazolewski Quintet, Kari Ikonen Trio, Louis Sclavis Trio, Food, KTU, Kurt Rosenwinkel.

The Garana Jazz Festival will have a mixture of American jazz and western jazz. The stages of the festivals will be set in Poiana Lupului, Hanul La Rascruce and the Catholic Churc in Valiug village. Dutch singer Yuri Honing will share the stage will Magnus Ostrom from Sweden and Carlos Bica from Portugal on the first day. The next few days there will be several concerts performed by Wotjek Mazolewski Quintet, Kari Ikonen Trio, Louis Sclavis Trio, Food, KTU, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Arild Andersen, Helge Lien and Nils Petter Molvaer.

At Hanul La Rascruce, the stage where the first edition of the festival was held, Romanian artist will perform: Sebastian Spanache Trio, Emil Bîzgă Quartet, JazzyBit, Nicu Patoi & Platonic Band, Sorin Zlat Trio, and Bega Blues Band.
