The German minister has praised Romanians as a ” small miracle” for Germany and stated that she is glad that they are part of the work force.

In the first year of lifting restrictions for working in the EU, many Romanians travelled to Germany for a work place. At the end of January 2014, there were 124,000 Romanians and Bulgarians went to Germany.

Romanians that went to Germany found work places, they pay their taxes, are appreciated and they integrated in society. Contrary to what people believed would happen, Romanians did not abouse the country’s benefits and did not steal jobs.

Herbert Brucker, an economy teacher at the Bamberg University has stated that in spite of the fear of a foreign invasion that will profit from the benefits and a rise in unemplyoment there is no proof of abuse of social benefits of Romanians and Bulgarians. In fact, Romanians and Bulgarians coming to Germany represents a success for the work force and the social system because they pay their taxes. Romanians also receive three times less social benefits than Bulgarians.

Last year, Andrea Nahles, the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs. has stated ” I have noticed that there is a large number of Romanian workers in Germany and they are very integrated in the work field and in the society. I want to confirm this fact.”
