Simona Halep voted WTA player of the month

Simona Halep was chosen for the first time the WTA player of the month. Simona received 84% of the votes, while Venus Williams received 9%.

Serena Williams was voted June player of the month, Garbine Muguruza from Spain was voted for May, Victoria Azarenka was chosen for March, Carla Suarez Navarro in February and Angelique Kerber from Germany for January and April.

Simona Halep, currently number 3 on the WTA rank, has had a successful month. She has won the BRD Bucharest Open on July 17 and the Rogers Cup in Montreal.
