Romanian students have won three silver medals and one bronze medal at the International Earth Science Olympiad in Japan.
The silver medals were secured by Alexandra Alexiu from Mihai Viteazul national college, Ploiesti, Hakan Calila from Mircea cel Batran national college, Constanta and Tudor Pipirig from Emil Racovita national college, Iasi. The bronze medal was secured by Diana-Gabirela Oprea from Bogdan Petriceicu Hasdeu, Buzau.
Over 100 students from 26 countries have competed in examinations on subjects such earth sciences, including geology, geophysics, meteorology, oceanography, astronomy, and environmental sciences. The Olympiad took place in Mie, Japan between August 20-27.
