196 young artists participate at the 2016 edition of Enescu festival


The Enescu 2016 classical music competition has started and it will continue until September 25.


The competition has opened with a concert sustained by Anna Tifu, winner of the Enescu 2007 competition, violoncellist Valentin Radutiu, winner of the 2011 festival, pianist Mihai Ritivoiu winner of the 2011 competition and composer Sebastian Androne, winner of the first prize of the Competition section, in 2014.

196 young artists are competing.Androne has said that the fact that he won this competition has helped his career and it has been an open door for entering in composing courses.


The event will also start a campaign of supporting young musicians and to discover new talents. The campaign wants to donate 50,000 euros to support five Romanian artists that compete in the Enescu event.

The competition can be viewed live online at the festivalenescu.ro and a part of the events will also be transmitted live at TVR2 and also on Medici TV and Mezzo.
