Romania was a big winner at the 52nd Chicago International Film Festival. Sieranevada has won the Gold Hugo prize, the festival’s biggest prize for the best international movie.
Cristi Puiu has also won the directing award. Another Romanian-French movie called “Graduation” directed by Cristian Mungiu has won the screenplay award and also the best actor award, which went to Adrian Titieni.
One of the judges of this year’s movie festival was Geraldine Chaplin, the granddaughter of Charlie Chaplin.
