Over 1,000 elderly people have celebrated the holidays thanks to volunteers and donators. Last year on December 29 in Bucharest, Pitesti, Constant, Braila and Ploiesti the Niciodata Singur (Never alone) association has offered them gifts, celebratory dinners and special visits.
Volunteers have visited retirement homes and also houses where retired people with financial problems live. Mrs Alexandrina Varvara from Bucharest said that it was one of the most beautiful moments in her life.
In Bucharest 330 people have received gifts for Christmas and have participated in interactive workshops for the holidays.
in Constanta, volunteers have given gifts to 250 pensioners, have sung carols and Santa Claus has paid them a special visit. In Braila, 73 gifts were given to the elderly and some of them participated in a festive family dinner on December 26. The second day, 80 volunteers and pensioners have enjoyed a festive atmosphere by enjoying a special lunch at Pescarus restaurant.
In Ploiesti over 50 pensioners of Vasarely retirement home have received gifts and in Pitesti volunteers of CEZ group have sung carols and gave gifts to over 180 retired people.
