The polo players have lost previously a game in Italy, however back in Romania they managed to win the game with 5-3, after being led with 3-2.
The team has managed to qualify thanks to their goal keeper, Gojko Pijetlovici from Serbia who managed to defend the goalpost twice. The Romanian team was trained by Kalman Kadar. The players who managed to score are Tiberiu Negrean( 3 goals), Ramiro Georgescu ( 3 goals), Mihnea Gheorghe, Mateja Asanovic and Nikola Radjen.
In the finals the team will face Ferencvaros from Budapest in two games, on March 22 and April 5.
The Oradea team is the only Romanian team that has managed to reach an European competition in the last 50 years. The last Romanian team to reach the finals was Dinamo Bucharest in 1968. They have lost against Mladost Zagreb from Yugoslavia.
