Horia Tecau and Jean-Julien Rojer have won the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships on Saturday.
The Dutch-Romanian team has managed to beat Marcin Matkowski and Rohan Bopanna with 4-6,6-3,10-3.
Tecau and Rojer have proved to work together well as a team as last year they have also won the Mutua Madrid open and in 2015 they have won the O2 championships in London. Additionally, they have also won five titles at the ATP World Tour 500 events such as Washington, Beijing, and Valencia in 2014 and also Rotterdam in 2015.
Overall they have won 13 titles as a team. Separately, Rojer has won 22 titles and Horia Tecau 30 awards. The prize in Dubai gets them 157,570 dollars and 500 ATP Doubles Rankings points.
According to ATP World Tour, Tecau stated
It was a difficult match. Bopanna won here three times. He’s obviously enjoying the conditions here and served well at the beginning of the match. He was returning well, too. Made it difficult for us.
They played a really good game in the first set to break my serve. Other than that, I think the games were pretty clean on serve. That’s why we do well. We stay calm. We stay together. We look for solutions. We kept holding our serve. That was the main focus of the second set, to hold serve.
