Judo player Larisa Florian has won the gold medal at the Grand Slam competition in Baku, Azerbaijan.
Florian played in the 52 kilograms and managed to beat Reka Pupp, from Hungary.
Previously this year Florian has won the third place at the Grand Prix competition in Dusseldorf where she managed to beat Charlie van Snick from Belgium and olympic champion Sarah Menezes from Brazil in the semifinals.
Another Romanian player, Alexandra Pop has only managed to occupy the 7th place in the 48 kilogram category, after beating Safag Mamadova. She has lost in the quarter finals to Taciana Cesar and Marina Cerniak.
183 players from 31 countries have participated in this competition.
