The Romanian hockey team has won the 2017 IIHF ICE Hockey U18 World Championship after beating South Korea.
The competition took place in Gangneung, South Korea. The Romanian team, coached by Cornel Chirita has managed to beat South Korea with 2-1 (1-1,1-0,0-0_ thanks to Reszegh Zsolt with the help of Eduard Casaneanu and Dosa Csaba. In the second half, the striker who provided the second goal was Casaneanu.
Romania has won the gold medal in this competition, winning 13 points and it was promoted in the IB value group. The best striker was considered Andrei Vasile with 10 points.
Eduard Casaneanu said
I’m very proud of what we accomplished here. These guys played with heart and we earned this victory.
We came into this tournament with zero expectations.We gained confidence after the first game and it just kept building to the point where we believe that we would win.
