A rather unusual festival will take place in a few weeks in Iasi county. The balloon festival takes place between May 19-21 2017 in Razboieni village, Ion Neculceu commune.
The festival wants to promote flying with hot air balloons, a sport which is not very known in Romania. More and more people started to be interested in this festival. The Facebook event is already followed by 40,000 people and the organisers are estimating a number of 10,000 visitors. This year they will bring 10 balloons from Romania and from other countries.
The balloons will all fly at the same time twice a day, in the morning and in the evening at 6.30 p.m. The event also has a special flight session in the afternoon.
According to the organisers this is the only event in the country where visitors are allowed to fly. For these type of flights, visitors will be served on the basis of “who comes first is served first.”
There will be other family friendly activities as well: facepainting, painting, drawing with coloured sand, trampoolines.
Visitors will also be able to buy jewlery and lavander decorations and enjoy local foods and drinks.
