Romania has won the second place in an international ballet competition in New York. Students from a choreography highschool in Bucharest together with their teachers have participated in The Youth America Grand Prix competition.
The students have reached the finals, after getting excellent results in the European semifinals in Paris, in November 2016. In the semifinals, Andreea Iuliana Tarus has won the first place in the classic dance category, Ruxandra Maria Popa has reached the top 12 and Luca Dobos has reached the top 6 in the Boys category.
Andreea Iuliana Tarus and Andrei Fabian Raschitor who study at the Floria Capsali choreography in Bucharest have danced the Pas de deux Peasant Pas from the Giselle ballet in the finals of the competition. Andreea Iuliana Tarus was also considered one of the best 12 ballet juniors in classic dance and contemporary dance.
The two students are currently in the VII grade and VIII grade were prepared by Nicoleta Cocea.Professor Vlad Toader, who is a frontman at the National Opera has also helped to coach for the finals of the competition.
The 18th edition of the contest took place between April 5-14 in New York. The competition has brought together many international ballet schools from Europe, Asia and USA.
