Three Romanian women teams were qualified for the semifinals of Technovation Challenge, which is the largest international mobile programming competition for girls.
Each team has to create an application using the AppInventor platform and a business plan and solve a need for today’s society. The participants had to choose between different themes sich as health, enviornment, poverty and education.
The three teams that will go to the semifinals are MoxiePuff from Jointly, Onesti, DragonByte from Unitycom Bucharest and Ro5IT from Descopera Micul Paris, Bucharest.
The MoxiePuff team developed a mobile app that offers cultural information on countries of the world for students and travellers. The application helps students to learn about geography.
The UnityCom group have developed an app that helps local farmers contact customers. The Micul Paris team have developed an educational platform that explores Bucharest symbols. The apps will be presented within the World Pitch Summit in August in San Francisco.
