Prince Charles has received today the title of Doctor Honoris Causa of the Babes-Bolyai University. The prince has received the award for his contribution to preserving the Romanian cultural heritage.
The title was given at an award ceremony which took place at the Aula Magna of the Babes-Bolyai University.
This is the first time the prince has come to Cluj-Napoca, although he visited Romania on numerous occasions. The prince owns two houses in Covasna county and in Brasov. He also created a foundation which promotes the preservation of Romanian heritage. The prince was asked why he comes to Romania so often and he said because Romanians are his friends and he loves Romanian tradition, Romanians’ capacity of innovation and change, their identity and potential.
Prince Charles was also previously awarded in March with the National Order” Romanian Star” by Romanian President Klaus Iohannis.
