Romania has won a gold medal on Saturday at the European Kayak-Canoe championships in Belgrad.
Catalin Chirila and Constantin Diba have won the category Canoe-2, for Under-23. The team has managed to win with a time of 3 minutes, 38 seconds 500/1000. They managed to beat Moldova with 156/1000 and Ukraine with 01 seconds and 788/1000.
In the Kaiac-2 feminine final for Under 23 Romanians Florida Ciuta and Daniela Varona have been placed on the 5th place and Florentina Caminescu for Kaiac-1 has also won the 5th place, while Stefan Strat was placed the 6th at Young Canoe category.
The competition continues with another 7 finals in which several Romanian sportsmen will compete. These are Alexandru Patrascu, who will compete for the 500 meter category, Livia Cale for the female category, Patrascu, Angela Bodnariuc, Carmen Petre, Laura Plesca and Adrieana Mihai. There are several other categories for under 23 where Romanian competitors will participate: Florida Ciuta and Daniela Varona for K2 female 500 m, Catalina Chirila and Constantin Diba for the 500 male C2, Cosmin Lulciuc, Razvan Albisoru, Aurelian Ciocan and Sorin Cical for the 500 metre K4 male category.
In total, Romania has 37 competitors at the European Championships this year.
