Romanian students have won three gold medals and three silver ones at the Balkan Mathematical Olympiad for Juniors.
10 member states and 9 guest states have participated in the competition. This year the contest was organized in Varna, between June 24-28.
The gold medals were secured by Tudor Darius Cardas, who studies at the A.T. Laurian National College in Botosani and by Tran Bach Nguyen and Sebastian Mihai Simon who study at the Informatics International Highschool in Bucharest.
The silver medals were awarded to Paul Becsi, who studies at the Gheorghe Sincai National College in Baia Mare, Andrei Tiberiu Pantea and Marginean Andrei Theodore who study at the Informatics International Highschool in Bucharest.
The students were coached by Dr Andrei Alex Eckstein who teaches at the Polytechnics University in Timisoara, professor Lucian Petrescu who teaches at the Grigore Moisil Theoretic Highschool in Tulcea and professor Marius Miinea from the Vladimir Streinu National College in Gaiesti.
