Romanian film “Breaking News” has been selected in the largest film festival in the Czech Republic. The movie which stars Romanian actors Andi Vasluianu and Voica Oltean have been officially selected for the Kvifest competition.
The movie, directed by Iulia Rugina tells the story of a reporter who sets out to investigate the private life of a colleague. According to the official description of the movie, the director’s vision focused on three motifs: “establishing whether we can really know another person, our fascination with others’ private worlds, the relationship between parents and children, and the tendency of contemporary media to sensationalize human affairs”. The movie was produced by the well-known Transylvania film festival organizer Tudor Giurgiu.


The KVIFF movie festival is considered the most prestigious film festival in Central and East of Europe.It is one of the oldest A-list movie festivals ( started in 1946), which is a category that it shares with festivals such as the Cannes festival and the Venice festival.
The festival takes place every year and it presents over 200 films from all over the world.
