Romanian opera singers triumph at international competition in Italy

Ten Romanian artists have represented the National Opera at the International Competition for Young Lyrical Artists at the Sarzana Opera Festival.

At this event soprano Adriana Marcu, base Filip Panait and tenor Alin Stoica have made an impression with the judges.

75 singers from all over the world have participated in the competition, five of them were from the Bucharest National Opera. These are: Adriana Marcu, Sorana Negrea, Ramona Păun, Marta Sandu and Alin Stoica.

Alin Stoica was one of the tenors who received three awards. These are: second place in the overall competition, the special prize of the public, and the Special Luciano Pavarotti award which was given by Pavarotti’s wife Nicoletta Mantovani. The artist was also invited to participate in a tribute concert for Luciano Pavarotti. The event will take place this year in September in Arena di Verona. This will be transmitted live by Rai 1.

Romanian tenors Adriana Marcu, Filip Panait and Ramona Paun were also invited to participate in the Rossiniana masterclass together with Katia Ricciarelli, Ernesto Palacio and Fabio Armiliato.
