Romanian students win four gold medals and one silver medal at World Physics Olympiad

Romanian students have won four gold medals and a silver medal at the World Physics Olympiad. Thanks to the medals won, Romania ranked on the 1st place in Europe and among the first 5 countries in the world.

The gold medals were secured by Anca Dragulescu, Razvan Octavian Dragu, Petru Cotrut and Andrei Radu. Razvan Octavian Radu has also won the silver medal in 2015. Dragulescu, Radu and Cotrut are all students at the Bucharest IT high school while Andrei Radu attends the Nicolae Balcescu National College in Braila.

The silver medal was secured by Sebastian Leontica who is currently studying at the Petru Rares National College in Piatra Neamt.

The Romanian team was coached by professor Delia Davidescu and Adrian Dafinei. The competition was held in Yogyakarta, Indonesia between 16-24 July. 424 competitors from 88 countries have participated in this competition.
