Larisa Iordache wins the gold medal at the Summer Games in Taipei

 

Romanian gymnast Larisa Iordache has managed to win the gold medal at a gymnastics competition in Taipei.

The gymnast has received 13,800 points in the finals at the floor competition. She has managed to beat Asuka Teramoto with 13,766 points and Lilia Akhaimova from Russia with 13,533 points.

So far, Iordache has also won the gold medal at the all-around individual event and ranked first in the finals with a total of 56,750 points. She has received 14,400 points at the vault, 14,300 at uneven bars and 14,000 at the beam.

Previously in 2012 Olympic Games Larisa Iordache has also won a bronze medal, two silver medals, and two bronze medals at the World Championships and five gold medals, five silver ones and two bronze medals at the European Championship.

 

 

Another Romanian, Andrei Muntean has also secured bronze medals at jumping with 14,600 points.

 

Romania is represented by 91 sportsmen who compete in the table tennis competition, volleyball, swimming, male polo, artistic gymnastics, fencing, and judo. 7,639 individuals compete in 275 sports events in Taipei this year.
