Romanian short movie wins grand prize at Odense movie festival

A short film directed by Adrian Silisteanu has won a grand prize at the Odense International Film Festival. The movie called “Written/Unwritten” was praised for portraying the clash between two cultures. Apart from winning the Grand Prix at the festival, which is worth 6,700 euros, the movie was also included in the selection for the Oscar awards.

The subject of the movie focuses on a Roma family and their daughter who gave birth. The family needs to find the mother of the daughter who has dissapeared since she was a child.

The movie has received other awards, such as the Grand Award at the Tampere Film Festival and another three awards at the Cinemed festival in Montpellier.
