Romania wins gold medal at the World Rowing Championships

Romania has won the gold medal at the double canoe category at the World Championships. The competition takes place in Sarasota, USA this year.

The Romanian team was formed of Ionela-Livia Lehaci and Gianina-Elena Beleaga. The team finished the competition in 6 minutes, 55 seconds 880/10000. They have managed to beat the favourite teams of the competition- USA and New Zeeland.

Another final takes place today evening and the Romanian team is participating in the 8 plus 1 category in the female and also the male category.

Romania has not won a gold medal in the World Competition since 2001.
