Timisoara city was badly affected by a very strong storm on September 17. Eight people have died and 27 were injured. According to Romania Insider trucks were overturned due to the strong winds that had a speed of 100 km/hour. As well. the storm has damaged 3,500 trees and unfortunately these need now to be cut.
The city mayor has decided to replace the trees by planting 3 trees for each broken tree. Therefore, the mayor has decided to plant 10,500 trees.
The broken tree that will be cut will be also given to people who need them for heat during the harsh winter times.
If there will be any wood left, it will be sold at an acution. The funds from the auction will be used to purchase saplings.
