Man transforms run down countryside house in the middle of the mountains into a beautiful Bed and Breakfast

A man from Romania has inherited his grandparents’ old house from the countryside and has decided to transform it into a bed and breakfast.

What is amazing about the house is that Ciprian Obancea has decided to keep its form and use original materials. The man has inherited the property in 2002 and for 7 years he did not know what to do with the house. Then, he came up with the idea of rebuilding it. He kept the original foundation and the walls are made of wood. The furniture is created by Ciprian and it has been painted by a local woman.  The furniture is made in the style of 1910 furniture. The doors, windows and the stairs were made

The furniture is created by Ciprian and it has been painted by a local woman.  The furniture is made in the style of 1910 furniture. The doors, windows and the stairs were made by his father and the lamps are created by Ciprian.

The Bed and Breakfast is called ” Casuta Bunicii” ( Grandma’s House) and it is located close to Bran’s castle, surrounded by Bucegi mountains, Piatra Craiului and Barsei country.

The house has won the grand prize for local tradition at the ANTREC awards in 2011.
