Romanian movie The Wanderers: The Quest of the Demon Hunter has won the Best Dramatic Feature award at a film festival in the US.
The movie is directed by Dragos Buliga, was written by Octav Gheorghe and the Bucharest ad agency Gavrila and Asociatii and it stars the well-known actor Armand Assante. The movie also stars Oana Marcu, Alexandra Apetre, Bogdan Nechifor and Claudiu Bleont.
The movie has won the award at the Philip K. Dick Science Fiction Filme Festival in New York. It was also previously awarded at the Dracula Film Festival with the Best Feature prize and at the Unreal Film Festival in the US. The movie was also selected at the Garden State Film Festival and the Glasgow Film Festival in Scotland.
The movie tells the story of a vampire hunter played by Armand Assante and a reporter played by Lior Ashkenazi who are investigating a case at the Zalesky castle. The movie was filmed in the area of Biertan and Zalesky castle in Bacau county.
Buliga has previously directed Romanian TV show Las Fierbinti.
