A high school student from Zalau has managed to found a social business through which she sells food to high school children and she uses the profit to help poor children go on free trips.
Andreea Chis is only 18 years old and she is studying at the Silvania National College in Zalau. She has previously studied at a British school in Jakarta, Indonesia. By studying in an international school she has earned a new perspective on life. When she came home she decided to develop herself personally by volunteering for the community.
According to Adevarul, she said that she used to be scared to try new things, however, she has learned that going out of your comfort zone is the way through which you evolve as a person. Thus, Andreea has participated in many workshops, she has attended special camps and conferences. She has started volunteering for SIROP, a social organization. But then, she noted that children did not have many sources from where they could get food at school. So, she created a social business through she sold food. The profit is used to organize trips for poor students.
Her social business has a special system of food delivery. Students order food in one break and the next break the food is delivered from shops, ready-made and warmed up. The money is used for special projects. In 2017 Andreea created a group of 40 volunteers and 20 children from the Day Centre in Zalau went on a trip.
Andreea is planning to create a start-up once she will start to attend a university. This start up will also focus on social matters.
