Romanian student wins the gold medal at the International Math Olympiad

This weekend students from different countries have competed at the International Math Olympiad. The competition took place in Iasi.

The grand prize was secured by a Romanian student from Iasi. His name is Ovidiu Neculai Avadanei and he was the only student to receive the maximum points. The Romanian team has won also four gold medals, silver and bronze medals. The Gheorghe Asachi university from Iasi has organized the competition for the second year in a row. Students from countries such as Argentina, Bulgaria, Czeck Republic, Russia and Turkmenistan have participated.

The competition lasted 5 hours in which the students had to solve 4 math problems of a very high difficulty.
