Boxer Robert Jitaru has won the gold medal at the European Championships. Jitaru has participated in the 56 kilograms category for Under 22. The competition took place in Targu Jiu.
Jitaru has beaten Tayfur Aliev from Azerbadjan. Overall Romania has won one gold medal, two silver medals, and a bronze medal. At the women’s category, Cristina Cosma from CSA Steaua has won the silver medal and she was beaten by Irma Testa from Italy. At the 81 kilograms category, Alina Gabriela Ene from CSM Slatina has won another silver medal, losing to Adrienn Juhasz from Hungary. Another bronze medal was secured by Albert Biro from Bacau in the 81 kilograms category.
