It can be said that it is a good year for Romanian sports women. Last week Catalina Axente has won the bronze medal at the European Wrestling Championships for Under 23.
Catalina Axente has beaten Francy Raedelt at the 76 kilograms category, Gana Maslakova from Belarus and Estefania del Jesus Ramirez Perdomo in the quarter finals. She was finally defeaded in the semifinals by Anastasia Sustova from Ukraine.
So far, Romania has won another two medals. Mihai Radu Mihut has won the gold medal at the 63 kilograms category and Florin Tita has won the bronze medal at the 55 kilograms category in the wrestling category.
Other Romanian competitors have managed to qualify for the bronze games and have won the bronze medal: Kriszta Incze for the 62 kilograms category and Alexandra Anghel for the 72 kilograms category. In the 50 kilograms category Stefania Claudia Priceputu as ended up on the 5th place after being defeadet by Ksenia Stankevici from Belarus and Oksana Livaci from Ukraine in the quarter finals.
As well, Suzanna Georgiana Seicariu has qualified for the bronze games where she will meet Silje Knutsen Kippernes from Norway. In the 62 kilograms category Incze has reached the semifinals after beating Natalia Gizela Kubaty from Poland and Iuliana Vasileva Ianeva from Bulgaria. Unfortunately, she has lost to Ilona Prokopevniuk.
