After winning the Roland Garros championship Simona Halep was praised by Rafael Nadal for her achievements. Nadal said that she deserves to be number one in the wrold as she is working hard for it. He noted that he likes people that work hard and are succesful because they deserve it. Simona Halep is one of those people.
It must be noted that while Simona has just one her first Roland Garros championship, Nadal has won it 11 times. Simona was also chosen as the best tennis player of May by the WTA. She has lost 3 Roland Garros finals until this year. The tennis player has managed to beat Petra Kvitova from the Czeck republic, Sloane Stephens from the USA and Elina Svitolina from the Ukraine.
As well, Simona’s game with Maria Sarapova was considered the best of May month. Another two Romanian tennis players were noted this year for their amazing performance: Mihaela Buzarnescu and Ana Bogdan.
