Public transport will also be possible by boat since today in Timisoara. The city council has announced the introduction of 7 little boats which will travel along Bega.
This will be the fifth transport subsystem in Timisoara city. So far, people can travel by tram, trolleys, buses, minibuses and bikes. The newly introduced boats will have special connections with different other ways of transports. One complete boat ride is 7,2 kilometer long and it takes 55 minutes. During the week locals can travel by boat and pay only 1 leu a ticket. While during the weekend, people will be able to take only leisure trips, however, these will be free.
Each boat has 50 places.
