The European weightlifting championships has brought us 8 new medals. Paul Dumitrascu has won the gold medal for the 69 category, lifting 170 kilograms. He was only positioned on the 6th place for the snatch category.
Raluca Andreea Olaru has won also the gold in the snatch event ( 90 kilograms) in the 58 kilograms category and she received the silver medal for the clean and jerk event with 107 kilograms. Meanwhile, Andreea Penciu has won the silver fo snatch for 89 kilograms and the bronze medal for the clean and jerk ( 107 kilograms). Overall Romania has won 12 medals at the championships. The juniors have won most of them and the Under 23 category only won bronze medals.
15 Romanian athletes, 4 boys and 7 girls for the juniors and three boys and one girl for the Under 23, have participated this year in the junior and young weightlifting championships in Poland.
