Romanian sculptor Brancusi has amazed the world with his creations and he continues to amaze us all. Recently a new office tower building in China was created using his Endless Column sculpture as an inspiration. The building called Soho Gubei is located in Shanghai, China and it was created by architects from Kohn Pederson Fox Associates.
The architecture company stated:
Inspired by the proportions of Constantin Brâncuși’s ‘Endless Column,’ the tower presents itself as an undulating obelisk featuring a diagonally canted zig-zag profile. Each side of its sculptural form consists of four stacked volumes. A series of shifted grids creates a density of wall surface that shades from the sun, reduces glass glare, and creates a sense of urban solidity.

The architecture company president stated that Shanghai has many office towers, however very few have a sculptural simplicity. The architects felt that now they have given the city of Shanghai a giant piece of public art.
The building has 38 stories for offices and 12 stories retail podium with parking. As well, a sky garden with dining option is located on top level.
