Police officers and firefighters from all over the world gathered to compete at the Latin American Police & Fire Games Olympics in November this year in Mexico. One Romanian police officer, Laura Augustin, 24 years old has won two gold medals: for Brazilian jiu-jitsu and for the judo competition.
Laura Augustin has won the gold medal two months ago at the World Police and Firefighter championship in China. Due to this amazing result, she was invited to participate in the Latino competitions as well. She arrived a day before the competition so she was still suffering from jet lag. Laura is the first policewoman from Romania to participate in this competition.
Laura was born in Baia Mare and she is playing judo professionally. She currently works as a police office in the town of Ulmeni.
